At the intersection of a solid creative concept, a business strategy, and budget approval, and buy-in from a client and/or a team… that’s where you’ll find me. Finding that sweet spot that satisfies all parties and allows me to get to work and get into the full creative groove is what is very rewarding for me. I immerse myself into the creative process sometimes even getting some of my best ideas in the middle of the night. Yes of course… I always keep a notepad by the side of my bed. It may seem a bit obsessive but this how passionate I am about turning a blank canvas into a great piece of communication with words and images that tells a story, bring action, change a mindset or provoke awareness. Commercial art that invites you to do something that makes a positive difference in some way is successful to me. And when the marketing data is analyzed to reveal that the communication has been met with positive outcomes that is most satisfying. And, if met with a less than desirable outcome then I’ve learned something and have an opportunity to correct an issue. Honesty, integrity and diplomacy are my hallmarks for my strong work ethic. I am very direct but soften the edges with humor and draw upon silly analogies to breakdown any barriers. I guess I consider myself an art director that wears a marketing communications and public relations hat but still enjoys doing the hands-on graphic design, photography and writing component with the ability to switch over to the strategic and executive management side of things. I am a big picture thinker but know the importance of paying attention to detail so most likely I will personally ensure that every aspect of a project has been labored over.

As a leader and mentor, I have been fortunate to seek and hire some of the most talented artists and public relations teams for a variety of companies or on a consulting basis. It has been my pleasure to have watched many of my coworkers go onto to do great things and have very lucrative careers even coming back to show me a new thing or two. That is a full circle moment and one that gives me a great sense of pride and job satisfaction.

And for those who know me, well what can I say… beside loving what I do for a living I love dark chocolate, I love my little two dachshunds and love to spend time with my adult kids… not always in that order. Yes, I’m smiling. I enjoy some traveling but I also love spending time in my cozy home where I can relax and rejuvenate so I can offer the best of my talents for the next creative.
